For years and years I've made resolutions along with everybody else. My last post said I wasn't going to make any because I don't keep them.
This morning I started thinking of things I'd like to have in my life and I started to get excited. Maybe re-wording or not putting a label on it would make it easier to jot down some goals.
While visiting a friend this morning I got all energized to get my own space. I'm certainly not knocking the one I'm in now. It's great; I'm comfortable; and like the excitement of living with my family. But, it will be nice to have my stuff spread about me and not infringe on the sacred spaces of others.
Of course the legal proceedings are looming ahead of me and it's hard not to get leery of what will happen. Keeping a positive attitude (I mean, not positive that it will not go in my favor). Like Stacy says "built your life here and whatever happens there will be gravy".
I've already got a jump on organization. I've gotten underbed boxes to help with that. Now, keeping things straightened up is one of my main goals.
Stacy and I have worked out a "schedule" for dinner. So far, I'm going to make it on Mondays. A good day since Josie will be in her violin class. One day out of seven doesn't really sound fair does it?
Another thing I'd like to do is travel a little more. This could prove a little difficult with my job but I'd like to go up to Nashville more than once when I see Camelot; up to Wisconsin in June for my godson's high school graduation; to Ireland to find some hunks like in the movie P.S. I love you. Not that I want any relationships with them; I'd just like to look at them.
That's enough for now. I have a scarf to knit and some bears to work on.

The End
The new year's almost here and some resolutions are supposed to be forthcoming. I always make them but usually never keep them. I don't want another year of disappointing myself. I've made some big changes this year and I certainly want to maintain that momentum; I admit to trying to slide back into my comfortable routine.
I will do more walking to work. I will do yoga at the Y for sure. My work project at the bakery will be to know where everything is; get it organized; and, if needed, get it cleaned. As for my bears; there will be a concentrated effort to the marketing side but I still need to create some more. There are some ideas in my head that need to come out.
That's a start.

If Only
If only I would have known how happy I was going to be; I would have made this move a LONG time ago. They say you can live on love and I believe it. I got it good and that ain't bad.
Getting up this morning out of a very deep sleep was sweetened by Josie who snuggled with me for a few minutes before I started my donut slinging. Now I get to have a whole week off while the bakery is closed.
I'm counting my chickens before they're hatched but 2008 is going to be a great year!

Up and At 'Em
Here I am up before the crack of dawn; getting ready to go to work at the bakery. I really like working there and have had fun getting to meet people. I even managed to get one grumpy person to smile. My fear of the cash register is subsiding and I hope I'm not asking too many questions.
Of course, having an exciting life seems to be causing me to not get to sleep right away; a lot of tossing and turning. I'm plenty tired enough. The day before yesterday I thought it was the large bottle of tea I drank but it happened again last night. Or, could it be that I realized Christmas is a LOT closer than I thought and I'm still thinking I have lots of time. I took care of that yesterday when I Christmas shopped after work. Today I'll do a little more.
Right now, I have a day full of Christmas carols to sing to and customer's to help.

Choral Heaven
I am flying high right now. I just got home from choral practice and it was SO amazing. I haven't sung the Hallelujah Chorus in forever and I don't think I ever sang it with a full orchestra. I found it hard to sing because I was tearing up; and when the trumpet solo came near the end I was a basket case of pure joy. Therese asked me my favorite Christmas songs while I was in Wisconsin at Thanksgiving and when I told her the Hallelujah Chorus and The Glory of the Lord from The Messiah she just gave me the deer in headlights look; like no, I mean real Christmas songs. I'm sorry, but if I have to join the real world I'll take a pass. I do love most all Christmas songs (some better than others) but my taste varies quite a bit. I don't care--that's why there are headphones; cranking up the tunes in one's car; or waiting until there's nobody else at home.
We also did White Christmas and it was so good (IMHO) that I expected Bing Crosby to walk on stage. Santa Claus is going to sing part of it and I hope he either eats a lot of food between now and Saturday or has a lot of padding laying around because he is one skinny dude.
I do need to get some sleep though. I start working at the bakery tomorrow. Luckily I don't need to be there at the crack of dawn. It should be lots of fun. I plan on walking to work just in case I get any ideas of eating lots of donuts.

Aaargh!
My favorite saying when I'm overwhelmed. I need to take lots of deep breaths!
I had a wonderful time in Wisconsin and a great homecoming but life has been knocking me on the side of the head with it's 2x4; and, also giving me great blessings at the same time. Before I left I was kind of updating my website--I think a lot of it turned out to be "I'll do that when I get back" so it's amazing that I got an order out of all that chaos. Now I'm trying to fix all the HTML, etc. and hopefully my site will be functioning as it's supposed to. In the midst of this I got a new camera and tried to take pictures without knowing how to operate it. Once I master that I'll be able to fly a jet plane.
I also got a job at the bakery not too far from here. I don't know when I start; hopefully soon.
I've attempted to go Christmas shopping; Christmas will be here sooner than later.
So, on that note I'd better get off the blog and get something accomplished before another 2x4 comes my way.
